How often should a house be washed in Central Ohio?
Once a year suits most properties here. Our humid summers and long damp springs let algae establish fast, and the north-facing walls that stay shaded go green first. Leaving it three or four years does not just look worse — the growth roots into the surface and takes longer, and costs more, to remove.
Is pressure washing safe for my siding and roof?
Full pressure is not, which is why we do not use it on them. Siding, roofs, stucco and painted wood are soft washed: a cleaning solution kills the growth at the root and a low-pressure rinse takes it away. Real pressure is reserved for concrete, brick and stone. Using one setting everywhere is what damages houses.
Do I need to be home when you come?
For exterior work, no. We need access to an outside water spigot and to the areas being cleaned, and payment can be taken afterwards. Interior window cleaning is the exception since someone has to let us in. Plenty of customers are at work when we come and see the result when they get back.
How soon can you come out?
Usually within the week, and often sooner outside spring. Spring is our busiest stretch — everyone wants the winter salt and a season of algae off at once — so booking a few weeks ahead is worth it around March and April.
